Ritual

A Call to the Incan Mothers

Mama Quilla was the Incan Moon Goddess. Her image was a huge silver disk with a human face; this disk hung in her chapel, nearly covering an entire wall. This chapel was part of the Temple of the Sun. Mama Quilla the Moon was next in reverence to the Sun God. She married the Sun Inti and gave birth to Mama Ogllo ("Egg"), the Moon Maiden and her brother the Sun Man. It was from these two that the Inca royal line was said to evolve. When an eclipse of the Moon occurred, it was said that a snake or puma was trying to eat the goddess. She was the protectress of women, and ruled over the calendar and the timing of festivals.

Mama Cocha was Mother Sea. She was worshipped especially along the Peruvian coast where fishing was essential to life. She also protected against tidal waves and marine disasters.

Pachamama was Earth Mother. She presided over agriculture and was invoked in all daily rites.

This chant can be included as part of regular ritual or chanted while spellworking. It can also be used just before meditation when you are seeking aid in strengthening your knowledge of magick.
